Description

GTP1GT0112 KAVAN Watt Meter 180A

Small direct current wattmeter up to 6500W with measurement of current in the range 0-180A, voltage 0-60V, electric charge 0-65Ah and energy 0-6500Wh in real time and memory for maximum values of current, voltage and power/power.

The 180A wattmeter can measure:

  • Real-time DC voltage 0-60 V with memory for minimum voltage value.
  • Real-time DC current 0-180 A with memory for maximum current value.
  • Power/power in real time 0-6554 W with memory for maximum value of power/power.
  • Amount of electric charge passed 0-65 Ah.
  • Amount of electrical energy passed 0-6554 Wh.
  • Time.

A wattmeter is an indispensable device when checking drive systems and optimizing them.

  • It can prevent damage to batteries, electric motors and speed controllers by excessive current and help to choose the optimal propeller size or gear ratio according to the used motor and controller.
  • It allows you to check the load on the power supplies, set the safe voltage.
  • It allows you to check the capacity of the accumulators and their load capacity.
  • It allows you to check the actual consumption of the receiver and servos to decide if you need to use a battery or a higher load UBEC power stabilizer.

Using a wattmeter

A power source (e.g. a drive battery) is connected to the input cables of the wattmeter. A consumer/load (e.g. a speed controller with a motor) is connected to the output cables of the wattmeter. If the voltage of the measured source is lower than 4.8 V, it is necessary to ensure the power supply of the wattmeter electronics by connecting a source with a voltage of 4.8-6.0 V to the socket on the left side (e.g. a NiMH 4.8 V receiver battery).

Instantaneous current (A) and instantaneous voltage (V) are displayed in the first line of the display. In the second line, the instantaneous power/power (W) is displayed on the right, the data of the measurement time, minimum voltage (Vm), elapsed charge (Ah), maximum current (Ap), maximum power/power (Wp) are displayed cyclically with a period of 2 s on the left ) and electrical energy (Wh). The measurement period is 0.4 s.
