We're thrilled to introduce the Cobra 8, our next generation electronic speed controller (ESC) for surface applications. As the inaugural product in a new line, the Cobra 8 is engineered with cutting-edge technology tailored specifically for 1:8th scale vehicles weighing up to 15 lbs. 

Note: The Cobra 8 ESC is not intended for drag racing applications.

The Cobra 8 boasts a state-of-the-art 32-bit, dual-core processor, ushering in a new era of precision and performance. Its enhanced data logging capabilities offer extended recording times, faster sampling rates, and a wealth of data points, enabling users to delve deeper into their vehicle's performance than ever before.

Crafted with a CNC aluminum bottom case, the Cobra 8 is engineered to endure the most rigorous conditions, ensuring reliability in every race or off-road adventure.

One of its defining features is our acclaimed CRYO-DRIVE™ technology, engineered to reduce operational temperatures, significantly prolonging the ESC's lifespan. Moreover, equipped with an impressive 8-amp BEC, the Cobra 8 can effortlessly power the most demanding servos, making it an indispensable ally in your high-performance setup.

We’ve packaged the Cobra 8 with three different Castle 4 -POLE 12-SLOT motor options to overpower a wide range of 1:8th scale vehicles.

Castle is proud to partner with Ghost RC and offer a drag specific version. It contains drag specific settings to control launch, manage power, and offers 166% more electrical motor timing.

Product Features
	Castle’s newest software technology, CRYO-DRIVE™ minimizes the amount of time the ESC's electrical components spend generating heat by optimally controlling which components are being used while driving the motor. This is happening thousands of times per second, which greatly reduces the rate at which the ESC heats up.  This results in significantly improved thermal performance during partial throttle operation where the majority of driving occurs. Your setup will be able to handle higher gear ratios, in heavier vehicles, with longer runs.
	When paired with a Castle 4-POLE 12-SLOT SENSORED MOTOR SmartSense™ software, enabled by default in the Castle Link Programming Suite, will use the motor’s sensors to provide smooth starts, excellent torque, and low-speed drivability.  Once the motor is turning, it seamlessly transitions to Castle’s ULTRA-EFFICIENT sensorless mode with electric timing. Smooth sensored startups and high-efficiency sensorless running makes the COBRA 8 system produce more power and less heat. QUIETSENSE™ is an innovative advancement in the design of sensored motors to deliver the highest precision and most efficient startup.
	The COBRA 8 allows “on-the-fly” adjustments to be made through the AUX wire once enabled in Castle Link. Once you have selected an AUX wire function, that setting can then be tuned from your transmitter while driving. Torque control, max throttle, max brake and drag brake adjustments are a sampling of the available modes. This real-time tuning allows you to quickly and easily fine-tune your system.
	The COBRA 8 contains NEW DATA LOGGING FEATURES: Double the maximum sample frequency of older generations. 8x increased logging time of older generations. Data point for ESC electrical motor timing. Data point for acceleration via onboard accelerometer. Looping feature prevents interruptions in data log recording. You can view a detailed turn-by-turn record of what your ESC actually experienced during the run. You will be able to record real-time data such as motor RPM, battery current and voltage, ESC and motor temperature, throttle input, and more. Download and analyze the collected data via Castle Link and make adjustments to maximize both performance and battery life.

	The COBRA 8 is housed in a rugged CNC-machined aluminum case and then potted in waterproof epoxy. This not only protects the electronics but ensures any heat generated in the controller can easily be dissipated through the case.
	COBRA 8 features Audible Alerts that will notify you, via audible chimes, of possible issues with calibrations and error conditions to help diagnose problems.
