Overview

From 1976 to 1986, the Jeep CJ-7 became one of the most successful and recognizable models in Jeep history. It refined the short wheelbase formula with a longer wheelbase that delivered greater stability on both trail and road, and it was the first CJ to truly blur the line between weekend trail rig and daily driver. Flat fenders, an upright grille, exposed hinges, and removable components carried unmistakable Jeep DNA, while more balanced proportions gave it a planted stance that looked just as right on the trail as it did parked outside a hardware store covered in dust. The CJ-7 is the moment Jeep figured out how to evolve without forgetting where it came from.

The Axial® SCX30™ Jeep CJ-7 RTR takes that iconic platform and condenses it into a compact crawler that still feels true to its roots. This is not just a smaller crawler. It is a scaled experience built around heritage, detail, and capability. Whether it is indoor obstacles, desktop terrain, or tight technical lines outdoors, the smaller scale creates a new kind of accessibility without sacrificing the fundamentals of what makes a crawler perform. Under that officially licensed body sits a high-performance chassis loaded with features typically reserved for competition rigs. An angled skid plate lets the CJ-7 glide over challenging obstacles rather than hang up on them. The Classic Version carries an officially licensed Jeep CJ-7 ABS hard body that captures the timeless look of the original, complete with a removable hard top, chrome-plated accents, and fully detailed interior and exterior features. Goodyear Wrangler Boulder MT tires on American Racing AR23 wheels round out the trail-ready aesthetic.

All versions share Spektrum electronics, including an SLT2 2.4GHz radio system with throttle limiting for beginners, low-mounted electronics for optimal center of gravity, and a Spektrum 2S LiPo battery with USB charger included. Full ball bearings, clipless body mounting, and functional front and rear LEDs complete a feature set that pushes micro crawling in a new direction.

Officially Licensed Goodyear Wrangler Boulder MT Tires (Classic Version) - The Goodyear Wrangler Boulder MT tires bring a more traditional off-road aesthetic with a rugged tread pattern designed for versatility across terrain. The tightly packed lugs provide consistent forward bite, while the detailed sidewalls reinforce that classic trail-ready look. Built from a soft compound with factory-installed foam inserts, they deliver dependable traction while maintaining a scale-correct profile and feel.

Officially Licensed American Racing AR23 Wheels (Classic Version) - The American Racing AR23 wheels channel timeless off-road style with a clean, functional design that complements the CJ-7's heritage. With scale-accurate detailing, realistic proportions, and a finish that mirrors full-size counterparts, these wheels enhance the overall authenticity of the build. They complete the look with a stance that feels intentional, balanced, and ready for the trail.

Spektrum SLT2 2.4GHz Transmitter - The included Spektrum SLT2 transmitter is designed to help all drivers succeed on the trails. Its throttle limiting feature can limit the rig's maximum available speed to 50% or 75% until you're ready for it all. Four AA batteries are included.

Spektrum Electronics - The factory-installed electronics on-board are mounted low in the chassis to improve the center of gravity. The ready-to-run package comes complete with a powerful Spektrum 2S LiPo battery and 0.5A USB charger for fast, easy, and safe battery recharging.
